Mt. Matier 3/25/06

Mike and I went up Keiths hut at Mt.Matier to get a few turns in and to do a recon of the east ridge. I took some nice photos of the east side of Matier and the ridge itself looks quite interesting.
I'd like to do this route soon, maybe next month.

Brohm ridge 3/12/06

I took a ski up brohm ridge to recon the route in preparation of trying an ascent of Mt. Garabaldi North face soon. It was a great day except that since it's a hugely popular snowmobile destination there were dozens of the abhorrent machine around. But having said that, I'd use one to get up there quickly. It took me about 4 hrs to go about 1o - 11 km or so. I still recovering my strength from getting over the flu last week. The road is snow covered from 3.5 km and covered in ski doo whoop de doos all the way up until the tree line where the tracks branch out.

Ski Doo whoop de doo hell for about 7 km. Snow plow until my hip muscles cramped up then switch to super tight turns on icy, crusty crap snow, then back to snow plowing etc. etc.
