Garabaldi again. Cloud surfing 6/12/10

Bob J and I made an attempt on G-Bal North Face. I'm sorry to say this is probably my 7th attempt at climbing this mountain thats in my backyard. The details of previous attempts are documented else where on this blog. Constantly turned back by weather or snow conditions. It's getting ridiculous really. Not for lack of trying obviously.
Today though was going to be different. The weather forecast was very favourable, the snow conditions good, the daylight lasts until 10pm and we were feeling strong.
The sun was very strong and the day proved to be bluebird skies. I had a few problems with my skins but nothing that was going to stop me this time. Later when we set up our camp we saw the lenticular cloud above G-Bal. Oh shit! That is going to be bad news. The clouds rolled in and the winds started. My little tarp tent shook all night long and we didn't get any sleep. In the morning rain and visibility was 3 metres. Crap foiled again.
Luckily I have been here so many times I was able to know where to go but it was still a bit stressful skiing down with no reference to up, down or left/right.
To top it off when we returned to the snowline where we had walked up to we found out some cock faced loser had stolen our shoes so we had to walk down to the car in our ski boots.
But all in all it was an enjoyable time. Probably about 20km round trip.
No blisters yet Bob? We only have 15km more to get back to the car.
