Thar  on the Coq March 1

Havoc on the Coq highway. Mandatory chain up for the truckers. Semis were spun out just past  3 bears snow shed, tow trucks reversing down where I was coming up. So this meant there was lots of snow up there. Actually it was blizzard conditions and there was 12" on the off ramps with no tracks. I barely made it through with all wheel drive and good snow tires on.
Snow was awesome on Thar with 18" fresh. The higher up I went though, an icy layer underneath became consistent and was starting to concern me. With it snowing and blowing heavily on a decently steep slope, I turned around.
Got some fantastic turns in the light fluffy powder.

Coq and Manning Park Jan 31-Feb 2

Skiing with Nick and Ryan for 3 days. Lots of opportunities for fart jokes. Some decent skiing and definite fun times. Pics are not in any sort of order and I'll post videos when time permits.

ZOA Dec 15, 2016

Nick and I got some turns in on ZOA peak up on the Coquialla.
The snow was excellent and it was frickin' cold! -19 C on the bottom without the windchill. Fingers turned into useless wooden things attached to our hands after a minute of exposure putting our boots on. My feet also got numb and it took 20 minutes of uphill activity to get some feeling back into them.
Once in the sun it got quite pleasant out and we had the place to ourselves.
A couple hours of skinning up got us to a nice sunny place for lunch. It was extra great to get out with my best ski buddy and this year holds great promise to be a stellar year. Next time bring an avy beacon that works so we can get some turns in up higher!
